IPL 2020: RR could not make a hat-trick; KKR Beats RR by 37 runs

Brief scores: KKR (174/6; 20 over) RR (137/9; 20 over)

The match took place at Dubai International cricket stadium on 30th September Wednesday. KKR were the champions as predicted and RR lost their opportunity to make a hat-trick. Dinesh Kartik led-KKR got 2 points on the scorecard as they won their last match against SRH. Young and dynamic players like Shubhnam gill (47 off 34) and Eoin margin( 34 off 23) have contributed in the team winning with their impressive batting. Dinesh Karthik was outstanding in bowling as well as in the fielding department. His postmatch statement:

RR could not make a hat-trick

“I would not call it a perfect game, a lot of areas to work on. It was a good game. The way Gill started, the way Mavi bowled and Russell started was good to see. Archer bowled very well. It was not that easy a wicket to bat on and made it look easier than it was. I keep saying these boys the journey they have been through, for them to come out there and express themselves is really special. We would have batted first, that was our plan, to put runs on the board.”

RR consistently won the last 2 matches but unfortunately could not perform in the tricky environment of Dubai stadium as was expected. A bad opening by Steve smith ( 3 off7). Even Sanju Samson (8 off 9) and Jos Buttler (21 off 16) were sent back very soon. Tom Curran completed his fifty with 3 sixes and 2 fours. Jofra archer’s bowling was outstanding with 2/18 in four overs. It seemed as if the team was not united in this match.
