Brief Scores: SRH 162/4 (20 Overs); DC 147/7 (20 Overs)

David Warner led-Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Shreyas Iyer led-Delhi capitals in 11th match of IPL 2020 season at The Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on Tuesday 29th September. SRH registered their 1st win of the season after 2 usual performances. DC won the toss and opted for bowling first which in turn favored SRH.

DC vs SRH Highlights

SRH started their inning with the duo Warner and Bairstow who shared 77 runs in first 10 runs. Kane Williamson performed for the first time in this season for SRH. Abdul Samad(12 not out) played his debut match. SRH bowlers gave an outstanding performance as Rashid Khan picked 3 pickets (3/14) while Bhuvneshwar got 2/25. Khaleel Ahmed, Natarajan and Abhishek got a single wicket each. Check what David Warner said:

We lost the toss tonight and won the game, so feels good. Unfortunately, Mitch Marsh was injured and we had to figure out how to get the overs in, but young Abhishek Sharma came in. We have been working hard in our training with the death bowling, and today they were fantastic because they can be called up at any stage. We need a bit of luck with the bat, around ten of them found the fielders. But in this heat, running does take a toll. I did hit some good shots, and I told the analyst that it only found the fielders.

Whereas, DC started with full confidence in their 2nd inning aiming to win. Unfortunately, it wasn’t their day. Prithvi Shaw (2) lost to Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the first over. Shreyas Iyer (17) and Shikhar Dhawan (34) tried to restore the inning but all in vain. Rashid Khan took 3 major wickets; Iyer, Dhawan and Rishabh Pant. Ishant Sharma joined DC after injury and performed for the first time in this IPL 2020 season, went wicketless while Rabada and Mishra picked two wickets each.

Post tournament Rashid Khan said emotionally:

“Tough one and a half years for me, first my dad expired and then my mom three-four months ago. And it took a bit of time for me to come back. My mom was my biggest fan, especially in the IPL and when I was the man of the match, she would always talk to me through the night.”
