  • 2008: Yuvraj Singh was the captain then and the team finished at 3rd position in the finals.
  • 2009: KXIP failed to reach the play-offs and finished at 5th position.
  • 2010: Kumar Sangakkara became the new captain. Punjab Kings finished off with 8th position.
  • 2011: Adam Gilchrist became the new captain. Yet again team couldn’t reach the playoffs.
  • 2012: KXIP/Punjab Kings finished at 6th position.
  • 2013: They again ranked at 6th position at the points table.
  • 2014: George bailey became the new captain. Another disappointing year for KXIP; they finished off at 6th position.
  • 2014: KXIP finished at 6th position.
  • 2015: George bailey continued as captain. They finished at the 5th position.
  • 2016: They switched the captain from maxwell to David miller. They again finished at the 5th position.
  • 2017: Glen Maxwell became the new captain. KXIP ranked at 5th position.
  • 2018: Ravichandran Ashwin joined the team as the new captain. They finished in 7th position.
  • 2019: The same pattern continued for another year. They finished in 6th position.
  • 2020: Punjab Kings started the tournament pretty well but lost track as the season continued. They ranked at 6th position on the points table.
  • 2021:  Dawid Malan, Saurabh Kumar, Jhye Richardson, Fabian Allen, Shahrukh Khan, Utkarsh Singh, Moises Henriques and Jalaj Saxena were bought in IPL auction 2021.
