Virat Kohli and AB de Villers changed their jerseys to tribute covid heroes
In the 3rd match of IPL 2020, Sun Risers Hyderabad faced off Royal Challengers Bangalore. Surprisingly RCB won by 10 runs and SRH was all out for 153 runs. Another thing that made the event more attractive was renamed jerseys of RCB’s star cricketer Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.
Even Yujvendra Chahal changed to Dr Nayak. They even changed their names on twitter profile.
Kohli changed his Twitter profile name to Simranjeet Singh and AB De Villiers changed it to Paritosh Pant. So who are these all people? They all are COVID 19 real-life heroes who worked selflessly to help the pandemic sufferers. Lets know something about them:
Dr Sachin Nayak: Yuzwendra Chahal will don his jersey as Dr Nayak. He is a doctor who treated Covid-19 patients in hospitals without any fear. To make sure his family is not affected, he slept in his car for many days.
Paritosh Pant: Mr Pant owns a restaurant and served many poor and needy people in lockdown. He also helped thousands of people by providing free food 2 times a day.AB de Villiers will be seen representing him in the entire tournament.
Simranjeet Singh: despite being hair impaired, nothing could stop him. He along with his friends raised and donated INR 98000/- to help the COVID-19 affected people.
As a tribute to these real-life heroes, RCB had decided to don the jerseys with ‘My COVID heroes’ for the entire tournament. RCB Said:
“Simranjeet Singh, a hearing-impaired but that did not stop him from helping others in the pandemic. He approached people to raise donations for the poor suffering in the pandemic and many hearing-impaired individuals agreed. These individuals weren’t from any particular organisation and they selflessly donated funds. Simranjeet Singh along with his friends raised Rs 98,000 to help people.”
About Paritosh pant, AB de Villiers posted on his Twitter account:
“I salute Paritosh, who started ‘Project Feeding from Far’ with Pooja & fed meals to 2 needy during the lockdown. I wear his name on my back this season 2 appreciate their challenger spirit,”
RCB Skipper quoted saying:
I am truly proud to wear RCB’s “My COVID Heroes” jersey as a sign of solidarity and gratitude to everyone who is right now going the extra mile to support the community at large. They have batted day and night and fought on the field, and I am honoured to call them my heroes.”
It was such a nice and noble gesture of RCBs to pay the tribute to COVID-19 warriors. They are truly inspiring and motivating their viewers and fans. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers can be seen proud and dignified to represent these heroes. This shows their true respect for COVID warriors.
