IPL 2020: Mumbai Indians Lack good Spinners, says Sunil Gavaskar
The countdown begins as IPL 2020 will be premiered tomorrow i.e. 19 September 2020. The First opening match is between Rohit led Mumbai Indians and MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings. Both the teams are highly competitive. The current head-to-head record stands at 17-11 in the favour of Mumbai Indians. This match is scheduled to start at 7.30 PM IST (06.00 PM local time) (02.00 UTC). The game will be telecasted on star sports network with live streaming on Disney+hotstar.
Rohit has proven to be the most successful skipper as he won the IPL title four times. But the former legendry Indian cricketer has different opinions on MI’s Team squad this season. He pointed out some flaws of this franchise. According to him, the champion defenders might miss out this year’s trophy due to lack of experienced spinners. As it is hard to play on slow pitches of UAE.
MI’s have Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandey, but they do not have any international experience. Talking about their backups Jayant Yadav and Anukul Roy, they have just begun their journey in IPL. Gavaskar also revealed:
“The other thing that can be a weakness is middle order. They will have to think who will bat at No.4 and No.5 position. If Quinton de Kock plays, then he will open with either Rohit Sharma or Suryakumar Yadav. Ishan Kishan might come in at No.4, he can also open the inning. Kieron Pollard can come in at No.5. Maybe Hardik Pandya can be promoted to No.4. But if that doesn’t happen then who will play at No.4?” added the prolific veteran batsman.
